Community rules
Roast the call, not the person. Here's what flies on Boldcall, what doesn't, and what we do when someone crosses the line.

Groups are invite-only
You play with people who got your link or code. The only thing that leaves your group is your spot on public rankings, and your name only shows there if you turn it on. If we ever add ways for people to find each other, we'll update these rules first.
The one rule
Call the outcome, not the person. "Dee is late to the wedding" is a call. It'll happen or it won't, and it's fair game with friends who talk like that. A "call" made up just to embarrass someone isn't a call.
Trash talk isn't a free pass either. Your group sees it with your name on it, and these rules apply to it like everything else.
Not allowed
- Calls about someone's body, sex life, health, immigration status or criminal record. That includes people outside the group, celebs and reality TV cast. Show calls are about what happens on screen, not anyone's private life.
- Anything sexual involving a minor. Ever. Even as a joke. We delete the account and report it to NCMEC.
- Threats, or calls that sound like a plan. "Someone's getting hurt" isn't a prediction.
- Harassment. Piling on one person over and over counts, even if each post seems small.
- Hate. Slurs, or going after people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Doxxing. Home addresses, where someone works, phone numbers, anything that helps find a person.
- Self-harm. No pushing it, including as a dare. No dangerous dares either.
- Dares involving alcohol, drugs or anything illegal.
- Real money. No cash dares, and no using Boldcall to track real bets.
- Fake voting info. Lies about when, where or how to vote, or who can. See the election rules.
- Pretending to be someone else.
- Spam and bots. Scripted accounts, mass-posted calls, or extra accounts to swing a split.
Why we don't bleep swearing
Everything you type gets checked before it posts, on your phone and again on our server. We block slurs, "kill yourself" and all its variations, anything sexualizing a kid, and threats that come with a weapon or an address. If something looks like a phone number or street address, we ask you to double-check before it posts.
We don't block swearing. A swear filter catches the word and misses the meanness. The brutal, squeaky-clean line about someone's breakup gets through, while your friend calling you an idiot over a bad fourth-down call gets bleeped. So we filter for harm and leave your vocabulary alone. No filter is perfect, which is why reports go to a real person.
Reporting
Every call, reply and piece of trash talk has Report on it. It's private. The person never finds out it was you. Whatever you report disappears for you right away. Want it back? It's under Hidden on the You tab.
A real person reviews every report. We aim to act within 24 hours, and we watch closely during big events. Threats and anything involving a minor jump the line. You can also email safety@boldcallapp.com. Tell us the group, about when it happened, and what you saw.
If someone's in danger right now, call 911 or your local emergency number first.

Unless it's really serious, we'll tell you what we did and why. Think we got it wrong? Reply to our message or email safety@boldcallapp.com with "Appeal" in the subject within 30 days. Someone new will take a look.
Blocking
Block someone and you stop seeing each other's calls and trash talk, on our server and your phone. Nobody gets told who blocked who. Blocking never changes anyone's points. If it cost them points, people would block to win. If it cost you points, you'd think twice before protecting yourself. Blocking isn't reporting, though. If someone's breaking the rules, do both.
Group admins
Every group has an admin, usually whoever started it. Admins can change a result, scrap a call and remove someone from the group. They can't see picks before reveal day, reveal a call early on their own, edit anyone's posts or change points directly. And they have zero power outside their group. If the admin is the problem, report them. Being admin doesn't put anyone above these rules.
Built in for everyone
We don't ask your age, so these are on for everybody:
- Your name stays off public rankings unless you turn it on.
- Anything shown outside your group is a total, never one person's pick.
- Quiet hours for notifications (10 p.m. to 8 a.m.) are on from the start.
- Groups are invite-only, and there's no anonymous mode.
- No fake activity and no made-up rankings. Every number comes from real people.
